The beautiful Mallorca will turn into an all-female paradise during the annual ELLA International Festival.

Now in its sixth year, the summer edition of the Mediterranean festival will take place from 30 August to 6 September 2018.

The event in the largest of the Balearic Islands celebrates girls who love girls. It will cater, in fact, exclusively to lesbian and bisexual cis and trans women, providing them with a safe space where to meet and engage in fun-loving, summer activities.

More than 1.500 women attended last year’s event. Attendees came from many countries around the world, including France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States and Latin America.

The festival program will feature several activities and events across various locations.

Day-time activities will include excursions and yoga, volleyball, and other group activities on the ELLA beach. By night, ELLA will host beautiful dinners and night-time entertainment.

The opening gala will kick off the celebrations on 30 August. The soiree will take place on a rooftop, with live music and catering by Michelin-starred chef Marc Fosh.

A selection of international artists and DJs from Australia, Scandinavia, Germany, and the UK will be behind the decks for the gala and all the other parties.

Furthermore, on Monday 3 September, the Sailing Tour will take guests on the oldest sailing boat of the Spanish Fleet for an afternoon of music and tapas.

The festival will move to Costa Rica

This year, ELLA will launch an initiative in Costa Rica to promote the empowerment of lesbian, bisexual and transgender women. The event is set to raise awareness on their identity, challenges, and aspirations.

The initiative will also include various social and charitable activities aimed to empower this community in the long term.

In addition, ELLA will host an International Festival in Costa Rica which will take place from 8 – 22 May. It will feature tourist activities and excursions, as well as social activities to raise funds for local projects.

The Festival will be inaugurated by the first ELLA Talks Costa Rica – Inspiring International Lesbian Conference in San José, Costa Rica on 8 May 2019.
