Rumors are swirling that iconic singer Elton John will perform at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Saturday.

He would of course be a wonderful choice. Elton famously performed Candle In the Wind at the funeral of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, in 1997.

The news stems from an exclusive report by an unnamed TMZ reporter published yesterday.

Reads the story: ‘Sources close to Elton tell TMZ the singer is set to perform during Saturday’s event.

‘It’s still unclear whether he’ll get behind his piano at the church ceremony or at the reception later in the night.’

We’ve looked at the star’s live schedule, and there’s certainly a gap there.

The Rocket Man’s final performance of his Vegas residency, The Million Dollar Piano at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, takes place tonight (Thursday 17 May).

Representatives for Elton have been approached by GSN for comment.

‘Clearly, the Spice Girls were never going to perform’

Rumors have also suggested the Spice Girls might reunite at the wedding, after Mel B dropped hints that they would

However, Page Six has since reported that only Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner have received invitations.

‘Clearly, the Spice Girls were never going to perform,’ added a source.
