Sara Ramirez’s Madam Secretary character will comes out as bisexual in the this week’s episode.

Madam Secretary is an American political drama show on CBS.

Sara plays Kat Sandoval, Policy Advisor to the United States Secretary of State.

Tomorrow’s episode see’s Kat and colleague Jay try to ‘devise a way to help persecuted foreign LGBTQ citizens escape their country while their U.S. homeland security applications are processed.’

A new clip shows Kat sitting down for food with Jay.

She opens up about co-parenting her child and reveals she is bisexual.

Kat says: ‘I’m bisexual. You can also say pansexual or fluid or non-monosexual but uh – Yeah I’m queer.’

Sebastian Arcelus plays Kat’s colleague, Jay Whiteman. He is the Secretary of State’s current chief of staff.

‘More confident about my purpose’

Sara came out as a ‘queer, bisexual‘ woman in 2016.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she spoke about the ‘full-circle moment’ when she was awarded with the Trailblazer Award from the New York LGBT Center.

She explained: ‘It was almost a year to the date, actually, from when I publicly came out as bisexual queer at the True Colors Fund event at the L.A. LGBT Center, so that was interesting.’

The actress added she feels ‘more confident about my purpose’ and wants to continue to ‘highlighting the issues that are plaguing my community.’

Madam Secretary airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS
