7,000 people took to the streets today [14 July] in Bristol, Southwest England, to celebrate the LGBTI community.

Walking groups and floats paraded through the city center sporting vibrant colors and incredible outfits. Despite yesterday’s rain, the sun came out today, gifting tourists and locals alike a pleasant afternoon.

Hundreds of rainbow flags flew high as the march kicked off at Castle Park at 11am. The parade started on time and continued smoothly to Lloyds Amphitheatre, where it ended an hour later.

All the colors of the LGBTI spectrum were represented at today’s march. Unlike Pride in London, the parade in Bristol went on relatively peacefully with no protests in sight.

Bristol Pride aimed to promote inclusivity, involving UK Black Pride and BiPride, giving a platform to some of the marginalized segments of the community.

The Bristol Pride concert

The amphitheater was also home to the annual Bristol Pride concert. Headliner and The X Factor winner Alexandra Burke was among the most anticipated artists who performed today.

Moreover, Madonna and P!nk impersonators Melissa Totten and Zoe Alexander also took the stage during the concert. Finally, alt-rock band Republica will be tonight’s last act, performing at 8:30pm.

Drag performers and dancers are performing on the other two stages, Cabaret Stage and Dance Performance Stage.

As Bristol Pride is a charity organized solely by volunteers, a mandatory £3 donation is required for anyone attending the main event at the Harbourside. There is also a chance to purchase wristbands which offer exclusive discounts and access to the afterparties.

There’s more: all the Bristol Pride’s afterparties

After today’s march, those who will want to continue partying will have plenty of choices.

First and foremost, Tempest, the official afterparty at the Bristol O2 Academy. The event is a special fundraising night to help keep Pride day free of charge.

There will also be three rooms of international and local DJs, performances, and dancers. Take your best outfit out of your closet and follow the dress code: Otherworld, Underwater, Glittering Goddesses, Myths and Legends.

Furthermore, Bristol Pride has teamed up with other afterparties Hush, Queenshilling, and Punka to offer a special offer to those who purchased a £15 wristband. B, Please party at The Love Inn, however, will be the only exception.
