Free speech – those are the words that UFC president Dana White repeated when he was asked about former middleweight champion Sean Strickland’s homophobic and transphobic tirade ahead of his UFC 297 card.
Strickland also ripped on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during the rant, which prompted an anti-Trudeau chant to echo around Scotiabank Arena during the main event.
During a post-fight press conference after Strickland lost his title, a reporter asked White about Strickland’s rant and white seemed to get heated during his response.
