LUBBOCK, Texas — OUTwest Lubbock, a South Plains community center for LGBTQ people announced it is raising financial support through GoFundMe for a letter-writing campaign.


Graduation weekend brings boom in business and economy for Lubbock

The campaign will request the City of Lubbock mayor and city council to declare the month of June as Pride Month in Lubbock.

The campaign’s objectives are:

To encourage members of the Lubbock City Council to issue an Official Proclamation declaring June as Pride Month.
To recognize the broad cultural and entrepreneurial contributions of the LGBTQ+ community to the City of Lubbock.
To declare that Lubbock is a city that welcomes all.

Money raised through GoFundMe will go toward print and virtual media advertisements to local outlets, according to OUTwest Lubbock.
