A new animal documentary from NBC-Universal’s streaming platform Peacock is exploding the myth that there’s a heterosexual male-female Noah’s Ark binary ordering our sexuality.
The Queer Planet doc is also exploding heads on the far-right for its portrayal of same-sex animal relationships and creatures that transition from one sex to another.
It’s “Satanic”, according to one X user.

Narrated by gay favorite Andrew Rannells (an actor who starred in Girls and The Band Played On), the first-of-its-kind nature series is set to explore “the rich diversity of animal sexuality — from flamboyant flamingos to pansexual primates, sex-changing clownfish to multi-gendered mushrooms and everything in between,” according to the show’s tagline.
“This documentary looks at extraordinary creatures, witnesses amazing behaviors, and introduces the scientists questioning the traditional concept of what’s natural when it comes to sex and gender.”
“Everything you were taught as a kid is wrong,” Australian author Bradley Trevor Greive says in the trailer for the show. “This is a queer planet.”
“It’s only in humans that we have such a stigma about it,” adds biologist Antonia Forster.
Enter anti-science extremists to prove the experts’ point.
“‘Queer Planet’ will be released in June. The documentary by NBC is focused on ‘LGBTQI+ tolerance’ among the animal kingdom… No, this is not satire.”
“NBC Peacock to release first LGBTQIA+ nature documentary titled ‘Queer Planet,’ in June,” writes another X user. “This is so f*cked up and evil for our youth. What is it? Science revisionism for a satanic gay agenda. Satanic.”
The New York Post quoted another X user who is “so sick of this LGBTQ s**t being rammed down our throats.”
On YouTube, a vlogger complained, “Someone actually signed a document saying this show should be made,” while another added dumbly, “This might be the most expensive homophobic joke ever made!”
At OutKick, the ironically-named conservative sports news site, there were complaints that NBC is dialing for gay dollars with the animal doc’s Pride Month premiere, while “retailers like Target try to monetize ill and confused children by selling them creepy ‘tuck-friendly’ swimwear.” The line referenced Target’s sale of swimsuits for transgender adults.
“It’s unclear if there is an official Hierarchy of Victimhood for animals,” Outkick bleats. “There is for humans. Transgender persons sit atop. Straight white Christian men sit at the bottom, almost buried beneath the pyramid.”
Pity the poor patriarchy.
“To be honest, we should all probably get laid a little more than we do,” says author and naturalist Bradley Trevor Greive in the trailer.
Adds narrator Rannells, “Nature is full of queer surprises.”
