AIt’s a new month, which means new opportunities for queer TV! GLAAD is bringing you some highlights from LGBTQ TV premieres and returns throughout July. Check back on the first of each month for up-to-date coverage of LGBTQ-inclusive programming on television.

July 8

All American: Homecoming (Season Three — The CW)

Bringston University is opening its doors one last time! Set against the backdrop of the prestigious HBCU, All American: Homecoming follows Simone Hicks, a young tennis hopeful, and her close circle of chosen family as they navigate the highs and lows of early adulthood. In the final season, Simone deals with the consequences of her romantic decisions from season two, but her personal life takes a back seat as she finds her tennis ambitions threatened. Her friends, including non binary stylist and pre-law student Nathaniel, portrayed by queer and gender non-conforming actor Rhoyle Ivy King, all struggle to balance their romantic relationships with their career pursuits to varying degrees of success. Catch the third season of All American: Homecoming at 9pm ET on The CW!

July 9

The Boyfriend (Season One — Netflix) 

Japan’s first same-sex reality romance series welcomes nine lucky men to the “Green Room” beach house for a summer of love! Over the course of a month, the men live under the same roof and run a peppermint green coffee truck together, forging deep connections along the way. With a focus on personal growth and intimacy beyond just romance, the show invites its contestants to find a lifelong friends and discover more about themselves. Watch The Boyfriend’s debut on Netflix, with new episodes dropping weekly in four installments.

Melissa Etheridge: I’m Not Broken (Special — Paramount+)

This two-part docuseries tells a story of healing and transcendence through the power of music. Melissa Etheridge: I’m Not Broken chronicles the Grammy-winning singer’s journey creating and performing a new song inspired by letters from five incarcerated women she meets at Topeka Correctional Facility in her Kansas hometown. Exploring themes of redemption, human connection, generational trauma, grief and healing, the doc sheds light on the challenges that women face in our prison system as Etheridge works to understand and interrupt the cycle of addiction. Stream the first part of I’m Not Broken, exclusively on Paramount+.

Wayne Brady: The Family Remix (Special — Freeform / Hulu)

Wayne Brady: The Family Remix promises an intimate look into the pansexual entertainer’s authentic life with his blended family! The unscripted series follows The Core Four—Brady, his ex-wife Mandie Taketa, their daughter Maile Masako Brady, and Taketa’s life partner Jason Fordham—around the clock as they navigate both personal and professional issues. Élite (Season Eight — Netflix)

Welcome back to Las Encinas for a final season of secrets, rivalries, corruption and excess! The queer Spanish teen drama Élite revolves around the relationships between three working-class students enrolled at the elite school through a scholarship program and their wealthy classmates. In the eighth season, the arrival of siblings Emilia and Hector Krawiez, leaders of the school’s alumni association, scatters chaos across campus. The pair represent everything that has always been wrong in Las Encinas and it’s up to Omar to face them. Celebrate the end of an era with the final season premiere on Netflix!
