Israel’s queer paradox: despite erosion of liberal values, LGBTQ rights support is rising

Since the beginning of this millennium, the world has made significant progress in its attitude to the rights of the gay community. The pinnacle of this progress is the recognition of same-sex marriage. Such marriages are now legal in 36 countries. But these rights do not always progress in a straight line. Often, there is a backlash, as members of the gay community are finding out in Europe.
