Police in Houston, Texas, say they suspect that a gay couple found dead Thursday evening died in a murder-suicide killing.
A friend of the couple reportedly received a concerning text message from one of the men. The friend went to the couple’s house on Markham Street in the Greenway area but was unable to enter as the doors were locked.
The friend called police, who broke into the house. They found the men, apparently dead from gunshot wounds, in an upstairs bedroom. Police have not yet named the men.
Houston Police Department investigator Blake Roberts said, ‘At this time it appears to be a murder-suicide.’ No suicide note was found.
The men had been together 20 years but were in the process of divorcing. Their five-bedroom, 4,000-square foot home, valued at $1.5million went up for sale on Wednesday as part of the divorce agreement.
