A 5.8 strong earthquake was measured 4 miles from Volcano and close to Captain Cook on the Island of Hawaii. Rumors of a tsunami warning had been clarified by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center as false.
Today’s Hawaii Mag 5.8 earthquake is the largest quake since May 4th when a 6.9 strong earthquake rocked Hawaii near the erupting volcano.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center recognized some areas may have been experienced strong shaking.
So far no damages were reported, and tourists on vacation on the island may not have noticed the threat.
Hawaii Civil Defense issued an emergency bulletin to inform Hawaii residents and tourists about the “non-threat.”
