Netflix’s hit prison dramedy Orange Is the New Black is officially coming back next month.

Season 6 premieres on 27 July and it promises some big changes for our beloved characters.

The video shows a demolished and ruined cafeteria from Litchfield Prison — and, of course, the chicken. It’s a setting viewers know well and have since the first season.

It ends with a simple promise: ‘To the max.’

On a different Facebook post, the caption reads: ‘Bye, bye, Litch.’

Season 5 ended on a huge cliffhanger. Litchfield was taken down by a riot — for which the catalyst was Poussey’s death — and it ended with a SWAT team storming the premises.

Next season will see a change of scenery. Specifically, we’re heading to a maximum security prison so you can imagine how much worse things might get.

A whole new world

‘This is a whole new world,’ Piper says in the clip.

It’s also one fans have been waiting for.

At least now there’s a little more information, and the possibility for more awards, of course.

Orange Is the New Black was one of Netflix’s first massive hits for original programming. Since its debut, it’s garnered 126 award nominations and 46 wins.

The series has won four Primetime Emmy Awards and five Screen Actors Guild Awards. It’s also won one GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
