Drag queen and Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst has debuted a hot, new platinum blonde look.
The star hit the red carpet of Vienna’s Life Ball sporting a blonde beard and sleek new hair cut. She revealed her new look in a Instagram post wearing a ‘Dom Top’ t-shirt.
Wurst dyed her hair to play Maria Von Trapp from the Sound of Music.
The famous musical was the theme of this year’s Life Ball, which is an annual fundraiser for HIV. The Life Ball has raised important funds for HIV since 1993.
Life Ball organizers chose the Sound of Music for this year’s theme because the Von Trapps were an early representation of an unconventional family.

‘The heart-warming, relatable story of the von Trapp family – their bond, music and dramatic
escape from an oppressive society – is a metaphor for many current topics in today’s world,’ said Gery Keszler, CEO of LIFE+ and Life Ball organizer.
‘The von Trapps are a perfect example of a non-traditional family as is the Life Ball cast, which also stands for inclusion, diversity, acceptance, and different ways of life.
‘I am convinced that families are the foundation of life. My wish is for a society that accepts alternative familial models – especially those of same-sex couples.’
Ending HIV stigma
Wurst has long been an advocate for the LGBTI community and HIV awareness, especially since she was outed as living with HIV against her will earlier this year.
‘I hope to build up courage and take another step against the stigmatization of people who have become infected by HIV, either through their own behavior or through no fault of their own,’ she said when she revealed she was living with HIV.
‘To my fans: the information about my HIV status may be new to you – my status is not! I’m well and well, and I’m stronger, more motivated and liberated than ever. Thank you for your support!’
