Friends and collaborators Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj released their latest song and it is definitely a bop.
The new single, titled The Light Is Coming, is another song about positivity, following the earlier release of No Tears Left to Cry.
‘The light is coming to take back everything the darkness stole,’ Grande sings defiantly. First, however, Minaj opens the song with an unapologetic rap.

The music video, featuring both artists in a creepy and mist-filled forest, is exclusively available on the Reebok website.
Pharrell is also involved in the song, setting up the catchy and synth-sounding vibe.
Through the song, there’s a man yelling ‘you wouldn’t let anybody speak’. This is apparently from CNN footage of a 2009 town hall with the late Democratic Senator Arlen Specter.
soo, the sample in @ArianaGrande’s #TheLightIsComing (“you wouldn’t let anybody speak!”) appears to be from a CNN archive clip of a man shouting at Sen. Arlen Specter at a Pennsylvania town hall meeting in 2009 pic.twitter.com/z8Cz9sVLbm

Standing up after hard times
It has not been an easy year for Grande, which may explain the positive themes of her recent songs.
Last month marked one year since the bombing of her Manchester concert. Recently, when she spoke about it, she broke down in tears.
Before embarking on her current relationship with Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson, she also opened up about the toxic nature of her previous relationship with Mac Miller.
Since these trying times, Grande has come back stronger than ever, both with her own music and collaborations with people like Minaj and Troye Sivan.
Her upcoming album Sweetener comes out on 17 August.
