In such tumultuous times, it can be easy to dream of superheroes. Queer artist Diimond Meeks’ new music video imagines exactly that — fighting back against those who stand in your way and living your best life.
Loose Me is full of stunning visuals and a catchy beat that immediately takes hold.
Its authenticity, flashiness, and 80s vibe brings images of Michael Jackson, Prince, and David Bowie. It’s a welcome energy, both in the music world at large and queer representation.

A kingdom for more queer artists
Between artists like Hayley Kiyoko, Troye Sivan, Janelle Monáe, and more, it’s a good time for LGBTQ artists. Meeks belongs here too.
Formerly known as Dezmond Meeks, his unique, bold style landed him a record deal with Sony Music and CeeLo Green (also featured on this track).
He first got his start in reality competition, appearing on both American Idol and America’s Got Talent. Ultimately, he made it into the quarter-finals of AGT.
He performed in Las Vegas for multiple years before independently releasing his debut album, Cinderfella. It earned several nominations and he eventually won Best Male Pop Artist and Best R&B Song (for Try Me) at the Independent Music Awards.
Meeks is currently working on his second album, Fairytales.
