Did you know that Slovenia is the only country in the world with the word ‘love’ in its name?

So we sent our resident Family Editor James and his husband Matt to check out everything this beautiful European country has to offer.

Hosted by Luxury Slovenia, the trip was part of Pink Week – an annual celebration of the LGBTI community.

Organized by husbands Mattej and Matej (who are also business partners), the trip was full of amazing local cuisine and free-flowing wine.

The pair landed in Ljubljana for their five-day adventure and had no idea what to expect.

They galloped through a horse farm in the Slovenian countryside, then into the depths of the Postojna Caves – one of the longest cave systems in Europe.

The loved-up couple also visited Predjama Castle – a castle in the literal side of a cave – and the picturesque Lake Bled. This is where they took the stunning main photo!

Pink Week culminates in the Dragon’s Ball dinner on the last night of the trip. It’s a huge formal celebration, with amazing performances and again, non-stop wine.

Then guests are invited to break it down on the dance floor at the official party, held in Ljubljana Castle.
