RuPaul’s Drag Race alum and UK Celebrity Big Brother winner, Courtney Act, is taking another huge step in her career to host her own late night talk show.

Called The Courtney Act Show it has been dubbed the world’s first ‘dragazine’ show.

Channel 4 will air the show and filmed the pilot in May. But is not known how many episodes will feature in the first series.

‘This is my show and I say come on in, all you heroic misfits, those of you who are a bit chipped around the edges… I want to welcome you all,’ Act said of her new show.

‘You bring the open minds and I’ll bring the open bar and we’ll meet in the middle for a gay old time!’

Star Power

Channel 4 decided to recruit Act because of her ‘undeniable star quality’.

‘As entertaining as she is emotionally intelligent, as savvy as she is sassy, Courtney was born to perform,’ Channel 4’s commissioning editor, Sarah Lazenby, said in a statement.

‘We are utterly delighted she has chosen to come to the channel to host the world’s first ‘dragazine’ show.’

Brisbane-born Act, rose to fame in her home country on the first season on Australia Idol. She then became an international queer celebrity as a top three finalist on Drag Race’s sixth season.

But the UK fell in love with the drag queen earlier this year when she won Celebrity Big Brother. Viewers applauded Act’s patience when schooling the other housemates on gender and LGBTI issues.

She also stars in a girl band called the AAA girls with fellow drag race stars Alaska and Willam.
