With tickets already sold out days ago, the UK Pride celebrations are now in full flow on the Isle of Wight.
Thousands of LGBTI people and their friends marched through the beach town of Ryde earlier today. They’re now enjoying an afternoon and evening of fab entertainment on the beach.
Following the island’s inaugural Pride celebration last year, the island was chosen to host this year’s national UK Pride event.
Impressive line-up of entertainment
The line up on the main stage is impressive to say the least. includes Eurovision winner Conchita, Livin’ Joy and Gok Wan. And if that wasn’t enough, the crowd is being treated to tribute acts featuring Lady Gaga, Dolly Parton and Paloma Faith.
Danny Beard, Miss Jason, the Solent Gay Men’s Chorus and Medina Community Choir, will also be entertaining the masses.
This year’s event also includes a cabaret tent, community stage, dance area and WI tent for live music.
In addition there are DJ sets and spoken word performances, and down on the main beach there are arts events, workshops, yoga, sandcastle building – of course – and lots more.
Here’s our pic of some of the best images of the day so far. And, is it just us, or have they got a thing about Stars Wars? Whatever. We love it…
