A heartwarming new video features gay men discussing their childhood with their moms.
Produced by Matthew J. Dempsey, the video explores the special relationship gay guys have with their mothers.
Dempsey and his gay male friends flew their mothers into Los Angeles to ask them what it was like raising gay sons and how they think things turned out.
In the video caption, Dempsey writes: ‘Gay guys and their moms often have a special bond and a uniquely close relationship.
‘Our moms gave us license to set down the pretense of how a “real boy” was supposed to be. [It] allowed us to just be ourselves.
‘However, even the most open-minded mothers can still naturally have all kinds of concerns for their young gay sons as they grow into men,’ he said.
In the video, the gay guys ask their moms a series of questions.
These include when they first knew their sons were gay. They also discuss the hardest thing about parenting a gay child and their biggest fears after coming out.
