Former Glee actor Mark Salling died on Tuesday (30 January) at the age of 35.
The coroner has not confirmed a cause of death due to the next of kin not being notified yet. However, TMZ reported it was an apparent suicide.
Attorney Michael Proctor confirmed the news to People: ‘I can confirm that Mark Salling passed away early this morning. Mark was a gentle and loving person, a person of great creativity, who was doing his best to atone for some serious mistakes and errors of judgment.’
In October, Salling pled guilty to possession of child pornography. Reports indicated investigators found more than 25,000 images and 600 videos depicting child pornography on his hard drives.
As part of his plea deal, he was set to serve four to seven years in prison. He also had to register as a sex offender and stay at least 100 feet away from schoolyards, parks, and other locations.
Salling was a musician, writing and producing his own music under the stage name Jericho.
However, people knew him best for his role on Glee. He played Noah ‘Puck’ Puckerman on the musical high school show.
