Bebe Rexha vs Aquaria? It’s no contest
When singer Bebe Rexha attempted to shade Drag Race queens, she didn’t know what she was doing.
The finalists of season 10 have just had one of the busiest weeks of any professional person’s life. Aquaria, Eureka, Asia O’Hara and Kameron have crossed the country doing promotional interviews, making apperences, to prepare for the final episode of the season.
One destination was VH1’s Trailblazer Honors, where some introduced Bebe to the stage.
But then Bebe aired her grievances on Twitter, claiming the girls were rude.
Bebe Rexha claims Drag Race queens were ‘cold as fuck’
‘I met some of the contestants from RuPaul’s Drag Race and I wasn’t in hair and makeup so they didn’t know it was me and they were COLD af,’ Rexha wrote.
‘The funny thing is they actually presented my performance. But ladies it doesn’t take much to be nice. Eureka was the only one to hug me.’
Bebe said they acted like they were the shit’.
‘And they seemed exhausted, but try my schedule and let’s talk ladies,’ she said.
Aquaria, the winner of season 10, initially said she was sorry for not recognizing her.
‘I totally was so mushy brained that I didn’t realize until it was too late but lady you sounded INCREDIBLE in ur performances and I am living for the new album!!!’ she wrote.
Rexha responded, saying that it was OK.
‘I get it. I was just really sad, cause I really love you guys, I just want to be you’re [sic] best-friend.’
Aquaria throws some expert shade…
Aquaria then popped off on her Twitter account.
She noted that unlike Bebe, they had to do full hair and make up by themselves.
She then said Bebe was then trying to assert the typical narrative that drag queens are ‘stuck up bitches’.
‘Just know we’re cool with u and loved ur performances and u think we’re evil villains because we didn’t suck ur toes,’ she added.
And then she spilled the real T…saying that Bebe was using them to promote her album.
‘I’m actually still kind of upset because as a queer artist and a drag queen I don’t ever foresee myself seeing the fame and being booked in the same spaces as some mainstream straight acts at any point in my career. So for one to come from left field and try to drag me and my sisters for something that was clearly a misunderstanding and then to tell us how busy your schedule is and how much we owe you to not be cold… I’m allowed to be mad about that.
‘And then to publicize your “hurt” to the millions of fans we will never have the opportunity of having?
