Cher is back with her latest music video from her forthcoming ABBA album — and it’s sans Cher.
The video is for her take on the song SOS, which she released the audio for last month.
While the diva herself may not appear in the video, several familiar faces do. Dressed up in 70s-inspired outfits, the likes of Betty Who, Rumer Willis, Vella Lovell from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and trans actor Trace Lysette from Amazon’s Transparent all show up throughout the course of the music video.
In it, they do their best lip-syncing Cher’s iteration of the emotional song.

This new video is not very unlike ABBA’s original video for the song.
Jake Wilson, who’s previously worked with Hayley Kiyoko and Dua Lipa, directed the endeavor.
Cher originally announced her album of ABBA covers, titled Dancing Queen, during the press tour for this summer’s Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. In the film, Cher played the grandmother of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) and mother of Donna (Meryl Streep).
In GSN’s review of the album, Jamie Tabberer describes it as being about ‘fun, entertainment, dizzy abandonment’.
‘Music snobs will try and dismiss Dancing Queen as tacky, disposable rubbish. Most without actually listening to it, of course,’ he writes. ‘This couldn’t be further from the truth. There’s actually a razor sharp concept here, a sort of ‘nostalgia squared’, the genesis of which is plain to see.’
Tabberer cites Chiquitita and The Name of the Game as some of the best and most vulnerable songs on the album.
Dancing Queen comes out on 28 September.
