Bisexual teen commits suicide after school bullying

Written by gaytourism

A bisexual teen committed suicide after school bullies mocked her for coming out.

17-year-old Sophia Esconde from Bulacan in the Philippines came out as bisexual in a Facebook post and then classmates started bullying her. Some even suggested she kill herself, reports NewNowNext.

So she committed suicide on 24 January.

Her sister took to Facebook to post some sweet memories of the bisexual teen and to speak out against biphobia.

Czarine Santos wrote: ‘This is an awareness post to everyone that bullying at school, regardless if public or private, catholic or not, do exist. Also, an empowerment post about homosexuality.

‘I hope everyone learned from what happened to my sister. Words can kill a person. To all the students who bullied my sister because of her appearance and gender confusion, may you all find peace of mind. You destroyed someone’s future. You destroyed a family.’

She added: ‘My dearest sister Sophia,… I will miss you forever and I will never forget your beautiful eyes and smile. May you rest in peace. I love you.’
