Three British tourists have been arrested for allegedly ‘mocking’ a gay couple on a flight bound for Gran Canaria earlier in February.

The unnamed couple say they started hurling abuse on the flight, which continued on the airport bus to the terminal.

The tourists, aged between 25 – 28, were arrested by Spanish police earlier in the month and taken before a judge.

British Tourists committed ‘A crime against fundamental rights’

The men were charged with ‘committing a crime against the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution’.

According to reports, the couple gave the Civil Guard a detailed description of the suspects.

However, it was not specified if the three suspects were male or female.

They were found staying in the holiday resort of Playa del Inglés.

The three were arrested on Friday 9 February but details of the case have just been released by the police.
