Britney Spears just won a GLAAD Award last night (12 April) and gave an empowering speech about standing 0ut from the crowd.

Ricky Martin introduced the pop superstar winning the Vanguard Award. He said: ‘She fights for acceptance in her own way. [Britney] could be one of those stars with a huge LGBTQ following that says nothing and does nothing but instead, she uses her platform to remind audiences around the globe that intolerance is unacceptable.’

In accepting her award, she said: ‘This is so incredibly amazing.

‘I feel like our society has always put such an emphasis on what’s normal. To be different is unusual or seen as strange. To be accepted unconditionally and to be able to express yourself as an individual through art is such a blessing.

‘We can all join hands together here and know that we’re all beautiful.

‘Being a mother has shown me what it means to love unconditionally,’ she said.

She thanked her friends, family and the LGBTQ community for their lifelong support.

Among the other attendees on the evening were The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons, actress Halle Berry, Real Housewife Erika Jayne and actress Lena Waithe.

Jim Parsons won the Stephen F. Kolzak Award and This Is Us won Outstanding Drama Series. Also, : When We Rise won Outstanding TV Movie or Limited Series and Black Panther: World of Wakanda won Outstanding Comic Book.

Gimme gimme more

Spears also snagged a photo with Winter Olympic athletes Gus Kenworthy and Adam Rippon.

Kenworthy quote-tweeted on a photo of the threesome on Twitter: ‘I’m a slave 4 u Britney Spears.’

This comes about after he told Elite Daily about his training regime for the games. What’s his go-to song to get his adrenalin flowing before a ski run? Gimme More by Britney Spears!

Then the Toxic singer tweeted Kenworthy while he was competing in the Games.

She said: ‘So proud of #TeamUSA!! Hey Gus Kenworthy, gimme, gimme more on the slopes today!! #ItsGusBitch’

He responded: ‘Oh. My. God. Was really not prepared to wake up to this. Not sure how I’m gonna ski today because I’m LITERALLY dead now but I’m gonna go that extra mile for you, Britney!’
