Burberry reveals LGBTI version of their iconic check pattern

Burberry has unveiled a rainbow check to support the LGBTI community.

This is gay designer Christopher Bailey’s final collection in his role as president and creative director.

The latest iteration of Burberry’s most iconic symbol will be debuted at a runway show on 17 February in London.

Final collection for Christopher Bailey dedicated to LGBTI people

‘My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to – and in support of – some of the best and brightest organizations supporting LGBTQ+ youth around the world,’ says Bailey.

‘There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity.’

The British fashion house has announced donations to three charities. Money will going to the LGBTI youth homeless charity Albert Kennedy Trust, based in UK, and the youth suicide hotline Trevor Project, based in the US.

Also, donations have been made to the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA).

The brand said it would be donating the money to ‘broaden the awareness, mentoring and resources available to LGBTQ communities around the world’.

Pieces from the rainbow-check collection will be available for purchase immediately after the show.
