Singer Christina Aguilera is back — and the six-year wait for her new album has been worth the wait.

Yup, you read that right: it’s been six years since the pop diva’s last album. Well, now the time has finally come.

Aguilera is getting ready to release her eighth studio album, Liberartion, on 15 June. To get fans excited, she released the lead single, and fabulous music video to go with it, on Thursday (3 May).

Accelerate features Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz and produced by none other than Twitter-stirrer Kanye West.

In the video, she’s covered in a honey-type substance and serves up her iconic vocal talents to a hip-hop beat.

Her look in the video is not unlike her minimal makeup photoshoot for Paper magazine.

The genie in a bottle is back

The singer’s last album was 2012’s Lotus.

She first came on to the scene via Disney, getting cast on The Mickey Mouse Club and recording a version of the song Reflection for their animated movie Mulan.

In 1999 came her first commercial success when she released her first album, which was self-titled. It featured iconic singles like Genie in a Bottle, What A Girl Wants, and I Turn to You.

Over the last few years, other than Lotus, she focused on other projects beyond her solo music. She appeared in the musical movie Burlesque alongside Cher and also served as a judge on The Voice for the first three seasons.
