Courtney Act will front the UK’s first-ever TV show focusing exclusively on bisexual dating.
The Bi Life will air on E! Entertainment Television UK & Ireland, NBCUniversal International Networks’ pop culture channel.
It will feature single people who identify as bisexual, as well as pansexual and sexually fluid. The show will be set in Barcelona, Spain.
‘As if this summer hasn’t been hot enough’
Courtney commented: ‘As if this summer hasn’t been hot enough, we decided to crank it up another notch with The Bi Life on E!’
She furthermore added: ‘It’s high time there was a dating show for the large number of young people today, like me, who are attracted to more than one gender.’
Courtney, also known as Shane Janek, is of course known for finishing in the top three of RuPaul’s Drag Race season six. This year, she won Celebrity Big Brother, the Channel 5 reality show.
Courtney furthermore added: ‘In 2018 we know that sexuality is fluid and sharing the stories and experiences, the laughter and the love making, of young bi people is so important.
‘So get ready to see the true stories of bisexual singles. [They] are the largest part of the LGBTQ+ community, but the least known.’
‘A pivotal point’
Meanwhile Lee Raftery, Managing Director UK & Emerging Markets and Chief Marketing & Content Officer, NBCUniversal International, commented: ‘This new commission is a pivotal point for E! Entertainment Television in the UK as we bring a fresh take on the full diversity of modern British relationships.’
Lee added: ‘We are incredibly excited to be introducing this pioneering series to our audiences in the UK and Ireland.’
The show will be comprised of 10 x 60 minute episodes. Filming will be completed in September.
