Demi Lovato is planning to re-enter rehab after suffering an apparent overdose on Tuesday (24 July).
The singer was rushed to the hospital when she was found unconscious from the apparent overdose. Initial reports indicated it was a heroin overdose, but that was declared false by numerous sources.
By the early hours of Wednesday (25 July), Lovato was reported as awake and in stable conditions. Celebrities from all over sent their love to the Sorry Not Sorry singer. Some, like Kehlani, also spoke about addiction and criticized media outlets for reaching out to Lovato’s friends and family.
According to a new report from E! News, the overdose ‘came after a night out at a bar with friends following months of partying’ and the next step is rehab.
‘Grateful to be alive’
Multiple sources told E! that Lovato and friends had been partying for last several months.
‘This is obviously a huge wake-up call. Demi doesn’t want to die and she’s very grateful to be alive,’ one source said.
‘She will be leaving the hospital and heading straight to rehab. Her family has been by her side supporting her and is getting her the help she needs.’
Lovato, who has long been open about her struggles with mental illness and substance abuse, released a song last month titled Sober. It implied she’d broken her six years of sobriety.
