Demi Lovato’s friends are urging her to quit showbusiness after the alleged life-threatening overdose she suffered on 24 July.

The Skyscraper singer, who has been in the hospital for over a week now due to high temperature and nausea, should be released this week.

However, the star’s friends are asking her to go back to rehab.

TMZ reports that her team is confident that her terrifying ordeal, and how unwell she was after the overdose, have ‘sufficiently scared her that she’ll go to a live-in facility for extended treatment’.

Some of Demi’s team have also threatened to quit if she doesn’t seek help, telling TMZ that ‘she could die if she doesn’t, and that’s not going to be on my watch that we did nothing’.

Friends close to the singer have encouraged her to leave showbusiness behind in order to get better as she has been working in the industry since she was a child.

A source told People: ‘She needs to get out of this whole system that she has been in since she was 13. Demi never had a day off.’

‘She needs to get out of this business’

‘[Demi’s mother] Dianna [De La Garza] loves her daughter and wants her to get better,’ another source told Grazia.

‘But if she wants to survive, she needs to get out of this business. Right now her health and her life are at stake.’

‘In the end, she has to want to get help. She can’t be forced into treatment. It won’t work. It’s too soon to say what the next steps are in terms of treatment. Everyone just wants to help get her to a healthy place.’

Jackson, who recently came out as bisexual, has denied claims she’s going to a rehab facility in the aftermath of Lovato’s overdose.

After a report surfaced claiming the 20-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson took Lovato’s hospitalization as a ‘big trigger for Paris to get healthy,’ Jackson took to Instagram to deny the rumor.

‘ummm no?? I haven’t gone to a clinic.. someone doesn’t have to almost die for me to know to be healthy, I’ve already had friends OD and die. that’s enough for me,’ Jackson wrote on her Instagram story.
