DJ Karsten Sollors to Make LGBTQ Debut at Furball DC
Chicago-based DJ, Karsten Sollors, is set to mark his LGBTQ debut in the nation’s capital, Washington D.C., at the eagerly anticipated leather dance party, Furball DC, on January 12. The event, eagerly awaited by the LGBTQ community, promises to be an unforgettable night of music and celebration at the Karma nightclub, renowned for its vibrant and inclusive atmosphere.
From Vancouver to Chicago’s House Music Scene
Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Sollors’ journey to becoming a reputable DJ has been one marked by a deep-seated passion for music and an insatiable desire to explore. His love for music was sparked at a young age when his mother, a flight attendant with a globe-trotting lifestyle, would bring home international hit records for him to explore. At the tender age of 14, Sollors began to master the craft of DJing, honing his skills over time and gradually making a name for himself in Vancouver’s music scene.
However, with Vancouver’s opportunities exhausted, Sollors sought to broaden his horizons and moved to Chicago, the birthplace of house music. In this vibrant city, he established his own record label, Sollors Systems, as a platform to promote a diverse range of artists and his unique blend of house, tech-house, and techno music.
Breaking Barriers and Building Bridges
Over the years, Sollors has carved a niche for himself in both the straight and LGBTQ nightlife scenes. His performances at various pride events, International Mr. Leather, and Circuit Mom Productions events in Chicago have showcased his talent and versatility, earning him recognition and respect across the board. Sollors’ music transcends boundaries, creating a unifying thread between audiences of varying sexual orientations.
Marking a Milestone at Furball DC
This year, Sollors is set to make a significant mark on his career as he headlines Furball DC. As a recurring DJ at Furball at the New York Eagle, he is no stranger to this event. However, headlining Furball DC will be a milestone in his career, marking his debut in the DC LGBTQ scene. DJ Sean Morris, known for his electrifying performances, will be opening the event.
Sollors’ music style, a blend of house, tech-house, and techno, is complemented by vocal elements that weave in between lighter and heavier beats, creating a captivating auditory experience that keeps audiences on their feet. As the date draws closer, anticipation builds for what promises to be a memorable night of music, celebration, and unity.
