Dodgers to hit 20k tickets for LGBTQ Pride Night, a huge success

Written by

The Los Angeles Dodgers are again set to hit LGBTQ Pride Night ticket-sales numbers that seemed utterly impossible just a few years ago.

Outsports has learned that Dodgers LGBTQ Pride Night is expected to reach about 20,000 sales of the Pride Night ticket package. That package includes a specially designed Pride Dodgers jersey. The big night is Friday, June 14, against the Kansas City Royals.

It’s the 11th time the Dodgers have had an official LGBTQ Pride Night. Last year, of course, the night became the subject of national attention with the participation of the drag-nun group the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

Get off the sidelines and into the game

Our weekly playbook is packed with everything from locker room chatter to pressing LGBTQ sports issues.

While anti-gay forces tried to mar the Dodgers, the night is back a year later and as big and popular as ever.

Just like in years past, the Dodgers players and coaches will wear special Pride-themed caps during the game. The Dodgers are one of the very few MLB teams who do this annually.

Also featured for the night is a Pride Night party in the centerfield plaza, complete with a DJ and a “vogue off.” OutLoud Sports will also host a kickball game on the field a couple hours before the game.

You can purchase tickets to the Dodgers LGBTQ Pride Night here.
