Duluth-Superior Pride brings the rainbow festivities to these US Twin Ports

Duluth, Minnesota, and Superior, Wisconsin, are just a short drive away from one another. However, the two cities will virtually get closer than ever to celebrate Pride from 30 August to 2 September.

This will be the 32nd Pride festival to take place in the two cities. Also known as the Twin Ports, both Duluth and Superior face the western part of Lake Superior.

The festival

The LGBTI festival kicks off today (30 August) with Duluth Mayor Emily Larson, as well as mayors from the surrounding communities, welcome visitors and residents alike to the downtown Duluth Depot for the opener of our Labor Day Weekend 2018 Pride Celebration.

On Friday 31 August there will be an art exhibition opening, plus worship services for the community. Moreover, a fundraising party at the Duluth Flame Nightclub.

Saturday 1 September, the sportiest in the community can take part in the 13th Hummingbird Family 5K run.

There will also be the annual Pride festival, a free event with live music and entertainment.

Furthermore, two bars will be joining forces to bring revelers the biggest Pride Block Party ever. The Flame Nightclub and The Main Club are each bringing their A-game to Tower Ave on Saturday night.

The Duluth-Superior Pride parade

Sunday is Pride parade day, kicking off at 11:30am.

The parade will glide down Broadway and Banks through Superior, proceeding down Tower Avenue ending at the Alley Entrance of the Main Club and will be filled with floats of all colors and sizes.

The annual Drag Show Fundraiser will follow the march, from 8pm till late.
