Marvel Studios is releasing their first female solo superhero film next year — Captain Marvel — and they dropped the first trailer today. Naturally, people can’t get enough of it.

Reactions to the trailer are very specific, from how feminist it is, to its inspiring message, and how Brie Larson in the lead role is making everyone super gay.

Just check out this trailer and you’ll see what everyone means.

Exactly.

Openly LGBTI women are tweeting about their love for Larson, and their excitement for the movie.

Among them are Tessa Thompson and Halsey.

People can’t get enough of the wordplay in the trailer, when the word ‘her’ suddenly transforms into ‘a hero’.

Even Broadway superstar Lin-Manuel Miranda is all about it.

‘The reason I’m gay’

The best reactions, by far, are all the people talking about how Larson is making them gay — either newly, or simply elevating their gay status.

Real.

It is the greatest day.

Others are reveling in Larson being a sexual awakening for people — just like Gillian Anderson, Sigourney Weaver, or Keira Knightley. Relatable.

Meet Carol Danvers

Writer Roy Thomas and artist Gene Colan first introduced Carol Danvers in 1968.

Initially, she was a US Air Force pilot and colleague of the Kree alien hero Mar-Vell. When an explosion happened, Carol’s DNA fused with Mar-Vell, giving her superhuman powers.

Her first moniker was Ms. Marvel before she became Captain Marvel.

She is considered Marvel’s biggest female hero, and one of, if not the strongest Avengers. After all, her powers include superhuman strength, endurance, stamina, and flight. She also has a limited sixth sense and Binary powers aka the ability to absorb and shoot energy.

The movie is coming out on 8 March in the US and UK. It’s set in the 1990s and also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, Gemma Chan, Lee Pace, and more.
