On Dec 6, 2019. Rep. Chris Stewart from Utah introduced in Congress the “Fairness for All Act” to address LGBTQ discrimination. For the first time conservative religious voices and Republican members of Congress came together to say that discrimination against LGBTQ Americans is wrong and must be addressed in federal law. However, the bill was significantly flawed and failed to offer full protections to LGBTQ people. We oppose the Fairness for All Act as introduced, and we continue to support the Equality Act as the best approach to addressing the harms of discrimination.
