Gay men reveal their secret daily skincare routines

Written by gaytourism

Gay Star News wanted to know what gay men use on their faces and if they’re willing to branch out and try something different.

So with the help of Clarins, we went down to Soho in central London to ask – what’s your daily skincare regime?

Brian, 23

‘In the morning, I use moisturizer, which has SPF. If you don’t use anything with SPF, you get wrinkles! I use face wash too.

‘I also use the Double Serum from Clarins, which is anti-wrinkle.’

Larry, 22

‘I probably use too much make-up – I’m a drag queen! So I make sure I tone and wash my face.’

Diogo, 26

‘Basically, I just wash my face in the morning with a normal product. Then I use a moisturizing cream. Sometimes I also do a mask – maybe once a month.’

Kieron, 36

‘Face scrub and then an eye gel and a moisturizer. I also have a slightly abrasive skin scrub.’

After trying out the Clarins Anti-Fatigue Eye Serum, he said: ‘It feels fresh!’

Graziano, 40

‘I shave and always use a scrub for my face. Sometimes I also use a mask that leaves the face very fresh. ‘

Drew, 36

‘In the mornings, I will exfoliate my face, neck, shoulders and arms. Then after that, I use quite a few products. I moisturize myself and let it dry.

‘Then I wash my hair, blow dry it, condition it and blow dry it again. Once everything’s all dry, I put on another toner and moisturizer in one. I try to do this two or three times a day.’

Michael, 34

‘I use facial wash and moisturizer.’

Asad, 30

‘I put shampoo in my hair, wash it out, use conditioner, and then wash my body with some inexpensive shower gel. I put some moisturizer on my face, then done – out the door!’

After trying the Clarins Hydra-Sculpt, he said: ‘It smells really nice.’

Thomas, 26

‘After I shave, I use a cream. I also sometimes use a mask and a balm for my lips.’

Vince, 42

‘I use a three-step approach – wash, exfoliate and moisturize. It’s the basics to keep your skin looking younger for longer.’

Paudy, 29

‘Every day, I wake up in the morning and I have a shower. I don’t exfoliate every day but I use face wash and then tinted moisturizer.

‘Then sometimes I put on a spray mist too. Whenever I clean shave too, I use an exfoliant, which is once every three or four days.’
