George Takei has spoken following his accuser admitting an assault ‘may not have happened’ in the 1980s.
Former model Scott Brunton now says he does not remember any unwanted touching from the Star Trek actor. He also admitted it could have been a ‘misunderstanding’ and that it was not a ‘painful’ interaction.
Takei denied the allegations from the start.
Now, he says he does wish Brunton any ‘ill will’ and instead offers him peace.

‘As many of you know, this has been a very difficult period for myself and my husband Brad as we have dealt with the impact of these accusations,’ he wrote.
‘We are happy to see that this nightmare is finally drawing to a close.’
He continued and reiterated he did not remember these events.
‘As I stated before, I do not remember Mr. Brunton or any of the events he described from forty years ago, but I do understand that this was part of a very important national conversation that we as a society must have, painful as it might be.
‘It is in that spirit that I want folks to know, despite what he has put us through, I do not bear Mr. Brunton any ill will, and I wish him peace.
‘Brad and I are especially grateful for the many fans who stood by me throughout this ordeal. Your support kept us going, and we are so immensely thankful for you.’
He signed his post with ‘Uncle George’.
A necessary conversation
Brunton first accused Takei in November, in the midst of the burgeoning #MeToo movement.
Several people, mostly women, have come forward with stories and personal experiences of sexual harassment and assault in Hollywood. 94% of women say they have experienced this within the industry.
Harvey Weinstein, the former Hollywood mogul and one of the first accused during this movement, was arrested today following reports that he planned to turn himself in.
