George Takei’s accuser now admits assault ‘may not have happened’

The accuser of George Takei has now admitted the assault ‘may not have happened’.

The 80-year-old Star Trek actor has repeatedly denied allegations model Scott Brunton made to the Hollywood Reporter last year.

No one else has made allegations about the gay actor.

Scott Brunton’s allegations against George Takei

Brunton alleged Takei spiked his drink one evening in Los Angeles in the early 80s.

He said: ‘All of a sudden, I begin feeling very disoriented and dizzy, and I thought I was going to pass out. I said I need to sit down and he said sit over here and he had the giant yellow beanbag chair. So I sat down in that and leaned my head back and I must have passed out.’

Brunton added: ‘‘The next thing I remember, I was coming to and he had my pants down around my ankles and he was groping my crotch and trying to get my underwear off and feeling me up at the same time, trying to get his hands down my underwear.

‘I came to and said, “What are you doing?! I don’t want to do this.” He goes, “You need to relax – I am just trying to make you comfortable. Get comfortable.”

‘And I said, “No. I don’t want to do this.” And I pushed him off and he said, “OK, fine.” And I said I am going to go and he said, “If you feel you must. You’re in no condition to drive.” I said, “I don’t care I want to go.”

‘So I managed to get my pants up and compose myself and I was just shocked. I walked out and went to my car until I felt well enough to drive home, and that was that,’ Brunton claims.

The 60-year-old came out about the alleged assault after reading media accounts of drink-spiked sex attacks and rape allegations against Bill Cosby.

Toxicologists rule out drugs

It was only after reading that he wondered if he was drugged.

Then 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds, toxicologists have assessed his experience and ruled out a spiked drink.

Lewis Nelson, the director of medical toxicology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, said it sounded like ‘postural hypotension, exacerbated by alcohol’.

Brunton did not admit to the Hollywood Reporter at the time that he had also been drinking wine earlier that day. He only said he had ‘two drinks’ with Takei.

When learning of the toxicologists’ observations, Brunton admitted ‘it makes [Takei] a little less sinister’.

The Observer questioned Brunton about his conflicting stories of the event. To one outlet, he claimed Takei was shirtless. In others, he said he was wearing a white t-shirt.

And finally, he admitted that Takei may not have have sexually assaulted him.

‘He was clearly on his way to…to…to going somewhere,’ Brunton said.

‘So you don’t remember him touching your genitals?’ he was asked.

And Brunton confessed he did not remember any touching.

He admitted that it could have been a ‘misunderstanding’, but insists it was an ‘unwanted situation’. He finally told the Observer ‘it might not have happened’.

Brunton added: ‘He was 20 years older than me and short. And I wasn’t attracted to Asian men… I was a hot, surfer, California boy type, that he probably could have only gotten had he bought, paid for or found someone just willing to ride on his coattails of fame.’

The episode itself was ‘not painful,’ Brunton said, laughing. ‘It didn’t scar me.’

Takei was ‘shocked and bewildered’ at claims

Takei said he was ‘shocked and bewildered’ at the claims.

He wrote on Twitter: ‘The events he describes back in the 1980s simply did not occur, and I do not know why he has claimed them now. I have wracked my brain to ask if I remember Mr Brunton, and I cannot say I do.’

Brunton has provided no evidence to support his claim.

George Takei came out against Harvey Weinstein in light of recent allegations levelled at the film producer. In response to the claims, Takei wrote on Facebook: ‘Too little, too late, M. Weinstein.’
