Gucci’s rainbow sneakers will take you to new heights
Special Pride collections are staple in many brands’ calendar for years.
Nike, Adidas and Converse are among the most famous ones to release an annual Pride collection.
Now Italian luxury brand Gucci has joined in, by releasing a pair of rainbow sneakers.
But it would not be luxury fashion if the design was not a little more out there than others.
Gucci describe it as a ‘striking take on the classic lace up’, and we are inclined to agree.
The shoe itself is made from gold leather, with a blue-and-red web stripe detail – seen as a ‘homage to Gucci’s roots’ – on the side.
The real eyecatcher, though, is the 9,5 centimeter platform sole.
Apart from really making you stand out from the crowd, especially if you are already tall, it also will draw attention on the ground.
Because it is just about the biggest rainbow we have seen on any fashion item so far.
While they were not explicitly launched as a Pride collection, they have alreayd made quite a splash online
They also come with probably the heftiest price tag of any Pride collection, because one pair will set you back £640 ($995, €790).
