Former One Direction member Harry Styles is continuing to make waves with his LGBTI fans, this time by helping one come out.
Styles was in San Jose, Texas on Thursday (11 July) night for a stop on his solo tour.
One of the people in the audience at the concert was Twitter user @takehismedicine aka Grace. She brought a hand-made poster to the show, noting that she wasn’t ‘expecting anything’ but she wanted Styles to see it.

One side of the poster read: ‘I traveled 2,846 miles to be here tonight. Thank you for 10 incredible shows.’
The other side: ‘I’m gonna come out to my parents because of YOU!!!’
Though Grace doubted anything would happen, little did she know…
‘Tina, she’s gay!’
Styles did, in fact, notice the poster in the audience. He stopped performing to address Grace and ask where her parents were.

Then Grace told Styles that her mom, Tina, was back in the hotel room. Styles generously told her congratulations and said he was very happy for her.
That’s not the end of the story, though.
Styles then led the audience in a chant of: ‘Tina, she’s gay!’
@Harry_Styles Thank you so much for creating an environment where I am proud to be who I am. Your continuous support of the LGBTQ+ has helped me come to love myself and feel safe. Thank you for tonight and I can’t wait to show Tina (my mom) this video. Love you always. pic.twitter.com/Kk5FJVYemB

Grace gave an update on the story with her mom’s reaction after showing her the video.
Per the tweet, Tina responded positively, telling her daughter: ‘Yes, I do love you and you can be whoever you want to be.’ Grace also added that her mom has decided to come with her to Styles’ performance in Los Angeles.
The single will be performing at the Forum in Southern California tomorrow (13 July) and Saturday (14 July).

Celebrating his LGBTI fans
Styles is no strange to celebrating his LGBTI fans and the larger community at his concerts.
At a recent US concert, he waved a ‘Make America Gay Again’ flag on stage.
He’s also told fans he always supports them, regardless of race or sexuality.
