The 2018 Emmy Award nominations were announced this morning and plenty of LGBTI talent received recognition. Netflix’s Queer Eye, which released the first two seasons earlier this year, walked away with four nominations.
It earned nods for:
- Outstanding Structured Reality Program
- Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program
- Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured or Competition Reality Program
- Outstanding Cinematography for Reality Programming
The Fab Five immediately took to social media to post their reactions to the nominations. And they’re all completely adorable in their excitement.
Can you believe?
The tweets starting rolling in and it soon became an infectious celebration.
Jonathan Van Ness, the show’s grooming expert, tweeted he was grateful.
Oh my god. I can’t even. Thank you sooo much @funnyordie @netflix I’m so grateful pic.twitter.com/VWz0NbP5tp

Food guy Antoni Porowski wrote he was ‘insanely grateful and proud of every associate producer, assistant, executive, production team member, casting, editors, show runners, and OG Fab Five for making it all possible’.
And, of course, his castmates — duh.
Queer Eye nominated for 4 Emmys. Insanely grateful and proud of every associate producer, assistant, executive, production team member, casting, editors, show runners, and OG Fab Five for making it all possible. Oh, and @tanfrance @bobbyberk @KaramoBrown @jvn too duh. ❤️

Dance it out
Tan France, fashion stylist, posted a video of himself and Van Ness doing the #InMyFeelingsChallenge to celebrate.
And it. Is. Everything.
The butt slapping! The heart hands! All the gyrating and twerking!
That’s exactly how we were all feeling when the nominations came out too.
It gets better, believe it or not. Van Ness didn’t just get nominated for Queer Eye. He also received a nomination as an executive producer of Funny or Die’s Gay of Thrones series.
He posted a video of the moment he found out about both shows’ nominations with everyone else.
Just look at how happy they all are!
The Emmy Awards will take place on 17 September.
