I tried a Pride CBD bath bomb and it was awesome

Kush Queen’s Pride bath bomb

In June, everything turns to rainbows, even cannabis. With medical (and recreational) marijuana becoming legal in many parts of the United States (and Canada now, too), numerous people are discovering the benefits of not only THC (the part of cannabis that makes you high), but CBD as well.

CBD

CBD is the part of cannabis that calms you down and reduces pain. Unlike THC, it holds no psychoactive properties. CBD is also used to help stop epileptic seizures (in fact, two strains of cannabis—Charlotte’s Web and Katelyn Faith—were created for little girls who struggle with epilepsy, due to their low amount of THC and high amount of CBD). Researchers have discovered that CBD offers benefits to those struggling with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and MS as well.

Broken Toe Woes

Last week, just a few days before the New York Pride festivities, I fractured my toe. I have never broken a bone before, so this was a new experience for me. I was visiting Miami at the time, and the next morning I was flying home. My experience at the airport in Miami wasn’t too bad, a cart and wheelchair made it so I didn’t have to walk through security and to the terminal. However, upon arrival in New York, there was no wheelchair waiting for me and I had to hobble to baggage claim with crutches.

When I finally arrived home, needless to say, I was exhausted and in pain. Still, I was happy to find a package from Kush Queen waiting for me. The package included two of their Pride bath bombs in the scent Awaken, an uplifting peppermint.

My foot ached from my fractured toe. My armpits ached from the crutches. So relaxing into a rainbow CBD bath was lovely and relaxing—not to mention a serene thing to do during Pride month. Plus, 10% of the proceeds from each Pride bath bomb goes to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation.

Female-owned Businesses

As a feminist, I ship Kush Queen’s products. Founded in 2013 by Olivia Alexander, the brand is female owned and operated. Alexander herself serves on the Women’s Council of High Times Magazine and does activist work for cannabis education.

So if you’re looking for a Pride-themed bath product that supports both a pro-LGBTI charity and female business owners, look no further than Kush Queen.
