The Executive Secretary of the Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values, Foh Amoaning, has challenged Alan Kyerematen to state his position on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQI) activities.

According to him, if the presidential candidate of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC) is a Christ-like individual, as he claims, he should be bold and declare his stance against these activities, which he referred to as demonic.

He made this statement during a gathering hosted by the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) and the Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights Value, which urged President Akufo-Addo to sign the anti-gay bill into law.

“Former President John Dramani Mahama has already declared his stance on the matter; he has told us he is against it, doing so on January 31.

“Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has also declared that he is against it. But I have not heard from Alan Kyerematen on the matter. He claims to be a Christian and Christ-like, but we have not heard from him.

“If you are really Christ-like, then I am humbly appealing to you to demonstrate your Christ-likeness and declare your position on the matter,” he said.

He also informed all other presidential candidates that religious groups and the Coalition would demand their positions on the issue, as well as from the vice-presidential candidates.

“We will not only demand the positions of the presidential candidates but also their vice-presidential candidates.

“So, if you see NAPO, tell him that we are coming to see him and demand his position on the matter. We will also demand the position of Prof. Opoku-Agyemang and all the other vice-presidential candidates.”

On his part, Rev. Dr. Stephen Wingam, the Chief Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, called for more evangelism and outreach missions to bring people back to Christ.

The Second Deputy Vice Chair of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, Apostle Dr. Aaron Amina, who is also the President of the Apostolic Church Ghana, indicated that the fight against LGBTQI has taken on a whole different dimension, needs the intervention of God.
