The Chair of the Kansas City’s LGBTQ Commission has announced his resignation.On Sunday, Justice Horn sent the Kansas City Council a letter notifying them of his resignation and departure from Kansas City.The commission helps shape legislation to make Kansas City a safer, more equitable place for people in the LGBTQ community. It was created in collaboration with more than 60 local organizations in December of 2020.He posted a notice that he would be stepping down on x, saying: “After much thought, I’ve made the decision to move on from my role as a city commissioner and no longer call Kansas City home. I am more committed to this fight than ever before, but I want to fight the good fight in my hometown. Thank you so so much for the great times and memories Kansas City—You made this kid from Blue Springs feel like one of y’all.”As mentioned at the end of his statement, Horn was born and raised in the Kansas City area. Horn has yet to announce his future plans. Horn has been in his current role since 2021.
