Katy Perry has revealed she has returned to the Christianity after meeting the Pope.
The Chained to the Rhythm singer furthermore reveals in a new interview: ‘My mom prayed for me my entire life, hoping I’d come back to God.’
The move comes after she met Pope Francis back in April. She met him alongside her mother and her boyfriend, actor Orlando Bloom.
Speaking to Vogue Australia, the star, who was recently named one of the world’s highest-paid entertainers, added: ‘Now that I’m in my 30s, it’s more about spirituality and heart goodness.’
‘He is a rebel – a rebel for Jesus’
She also said: ‘I’m such a big fan of Pope Francis,’ reports MailOnline. ‘It’s a combination of compassion, humility, sternness and refusal. He is a rebel – a rebel for Jesus.’
Katy is known for hits including Roar and I Kissed a Girl. Addressing the latter song at last year’s Human Rights Campaign Gala, Katy said: ‘I speak my truths and I paint my fantasies into these little bite size pop songs.
‘For instance, “I kissed a girl and I liked it.” Truth be told, I did more than that.’
