Kylie Minogue will perform at Glastonbury next year, according to reports.

It would be the 50-year-old star’s first-ever solo appearance at the music festival.

Kylie will fill the Sunday afternoon legends slot, insiders say. It has previously played host to the likes of Lionel Richie and Dolly Parton.

Kylie was previously due to appear on the Pyramid Stage at the Somerset music festival in 2005. She pulled out after being diagnosed with breast cancer, however.

She did perform at Glastonbury five years later however. The star was a special guest during Scissor Sisters’ performance, performing Any Which Way with them.

‘She jumped at the opportunity’

A Glastonbury insider told The Sun: ‘Kylie had to pull out of Glastonbury in 2005 just a month before she was due to appear so this performance will be a very emotional and poignant moment for her.’

They furthermore added: ‘She jumped at the opportunity to appear next year and it is the perfect way to celebrate her career.’

Kylie’s recent album Golden hit number one in the UK earlier this year. It was her 14th LP in a career spanning for decades.

Meanwhile another non-British female star has been rumored to be headlining the iconic festival: Madonna.
