Congratulations Kylie! The iconic singer is back where she belongs – at the top of the UK album charts.
The Dancing singer sold over 35,000 copies of her new country-tinged LP Golden this week.
Kylie’s last number one album was 2010’s Aphrodite.
‘A well-deserved number one’
A representative for the Official Charts Company told Gay Star News: ‘Congratulations to Kylie and BMG – a well-deserved number one album.
‘With some fantastic sales on vinyl and cassette this week too, it’s clear that Golden is quickly earning a place in the collections of Kylie fans around Britain.’
Meanwhile Kylie told the OCC: ‘I don’t know where to start… Thank you to everybody who has been involved in getting Golden to number one.’
She furthermore added: ‘I am so overwhelmed, happy, proud, emotional and very, very thankful and grateful. Much love and many, many, many thanks.’

She’s previously reached the chart position with four other albums. They were Kylie in 1988, Enjoy Yourself in 89, her Greatest Hits collection in 1991 and Fever in 2001.
Her number one singles in the UK include Slow, Spinning Around and the iconic Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.

‘A country asked us to cut the gay kissing from All The Lovers’
The star has always been in LGBTI icon in the UK, her native Australia and beyond – not least because she refused to have a gay kiss cut from her 2010 video for All The Lovers.
Director Joseph Kahn revealed on Twitter: ‘A country asked us to cut the gay kissing from [All The Lovers]’. Kylie Minogue said no. No press release. She is amazing.’
Kylie will give that headline performance at NYC Pride’s Pride Island party on 14 June.
