Two hockey rivals have just become romantic partners for life.
US Olympic ice hockey forward Meghan Duggan married longtime Canadian rival Gillian apps.
The pair married in Pownal, Maine, outside, surrounded by family and friends.
‘The most incredible day of my life,’ Duggan said, posting several photos on Instagram.
Apps, sharing a photo of the women at their table during the ceremony, said: ‘Nothing but smiles after this amazing weekend.’
Other Olympians were in attendance, serving as bridesmaids.
These included Kacey Bellamy, Brianna Decker and Erika Lawler.
Apps is a three-time Olympic gold medalist, winning in 2006, 2010, and 2014.
Duggan has two Olympic silvers, winning in 2010 and 2014, and one Olympic gold, winning in 2018.

On Twitter, many applauded the couple’s nuptials.
Miles said: ‘The captains of the US and Canadian Olympic hockey teams got hitched and I AM SCREAMING’.
One said: ‘This is like a royal wedding, except Hockey Royalty’.
Amy said: ‘This is the most beautiful thing. Champions, rivals and brides.
James Lachlann Jensen referenced two other female players that have got together, Caroline Oulette and Julie Chu.
Like Duggan and Apps, they were the captains of the US and Canada teams.
In November 2017, they welcomed a baby in the world.

Hockey becomes more inclusive
Canadian player Jessica Platt plays for Toronto Furies and came out as transgender earlier this year.
In an Instagram post, she said: ‘After a lot of thought I would like to announce that I am transgender.
‘I am fortunate enough to be able to live my life as who I am meant to be as well as follow my passion and play the game I love.
