It’s Aunties Day today (22 July) and we’re here to celebrate all of the amazing lesbian, queer, bi+ and trans aunts.

Perhaps the most famous LBTQ+ aunts in the world are Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.

Their nieces Perry and Eva are their world, but they’re quite content not having children of their own.

In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, de Rossi said: ‘They’re adorable – we love them and we play with them… and then we leave.’

So without further ado, we salute every amazing aunt and wish them a happy Aunties Day!
