The LGBTQ Center Long Beach will begin the process of finding a new Executive Director, they announced Friday.
The new director will be taking the reins from Interim Executive Director, Ellie Perez, who joined in August of last year after working for Visit Gay Long Beach. Perez was appointed to the first-ever Los Angeles County LGBTQ+ Commission on Dec. 19.
“As a community-driven organization committed to promoting inclusivity and equity, we are seeking a leader who shares our values and is dedicated to advancing LGBTQ+ representation,” said Board President Jason Acosta in a press release.
“We encourage all community leaders who are passionate about making a difference to apply for this critical position. With your leadership, we can continue building a brighter future for all community members,” Acosta added.

The position will lead the Center in its advocacy work and for the LGBTQ community, provide leadership and vision for the organization, and oversee day-to-day operations programs and services.
Additionally, the hired applicant will work to cultivate positive relationships with community partners, donors, and stakeholders while developing and executing fundraising strategies to secure financial support.
The Center is hoping to receive applications from individuals who can demonstrate leadership experience in a nonprofit or community-based organization, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with experience in fundraising and a knowledge of LGBTQ issues.
To apply, interested candidates are invited to submit their application at www.centerlb.org/careers by 5:00 PM on February 5, 2024.
